‘Family Hour’ by Amsterdam based filmmaker Mariia Ponomarova, is her fifth short film which explores a personal and experimental narrative through classical storytelling.
The film follows sixteen-year-old Danya, at a post-Soviet summer camp near Kyiv on the day of family visits. Danya’s father who hasn’t been a part of his life for many years arrives earlier than expected. The struggle for his recognition continues and the real meaning of familial bonds is questioned.
