Don't Swallow My Heart, Alligator Girl

On the turbulent border between Brazil and Paraguay there is a war brewing between rival gangs. Amongst the devastation, a young boy, Joca falls in love with indigenous-Paraguayan girl Basano. A magical tale of impossible love and adventure in this land full of memories of colonial wars and indigenous genocide.

The film is produced by Duas Mariola Filmes, Zazen Producoes and Globo Filmes from Brazil and co-produced by Revolver Amsterdam and Damned Film.

Don’t Swallow My Heart, Alligator Girl is the first solo feature by Brazilian filmmaker Felipe Bragança who’s previous film ‘The Joy’ which he co-directed with Marina Meliande screened at the Director’s Fortnight at the Cannes Film Festival
