Set in the 1790’S, LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP centres on beautiful widow Lady Susan Vernon, who descends upon the estate of her in-laws to wait out colourful rumours about her dalliances circulating through polite society. Whilst there, she decides to secure a husband for herself and her rather reluctant debutante daughter, Frederica.

The comedy of manners reunites director Whit Stillman with Last Days of Disco stars Kate Beckinsale and Chloë Sevigny.

About the Director:
Stillman is famous for his comedies of manners Metropolitan, Barcelona and The Last Days Of Disco. His last film was Damsels In Distress which closed the Venice Film Festival in 2011. He received an Oscar nomination for his Metropolitan screenplay in 1990.
