Machines milk cows and robots serve diners. In this quiet observation on the mechanisation of labour, humans feel increasingly irrelevant. Empathy passes to the machines.
Cows are fed, milked, cleaned and massaged by robots, and a restaurant is slowly taken over by robot waiters. With a strange serenity, this film shows the intimate relationship between robots and living beings, all in the service of human consumption. Robots are the protagonists here and with close observation their personalities start to shine through.
