Bio - Hugo de Kok
Hugo completed his Bachelor of Design studies in 2014 at the Utrecht School of the Arts. During his studies he worked on many different productions such as directing music videos and commercials up to the projections of visuals and video-mapping on buildings.
In 2012 he along with Kay van Vree made an experimental film ‘Flatten’, this film was granted the status of Vimeo Staff Pick and appeared at many international festivals including GoShort International and the NYC Food Film Festival. During the Talent Factory Hilversum ‘Flatten’ won the HKU Medal 2012.
During his internship at Filmmore Amsterdam he worked at the Visual effects department and worked on famous Dutch films and series including ‘Moeder, ik wil bij de revue’ and ‘De Wederopstanding van een Klootzak’. He also designed the movie titles for the feature film ‘Chez Nous’.
As a graduation project he directed the short film ‘And Then It Hits You’ in which he wants to teach the viewers, In a subtle way, a life lesson. This combined with visual effects made this a very successful graduation film which was an online success.
In his work Hugo knows how to present a strong story and how to visually stun the audience. Hovering people, flying stones or bowling balls nothing seems impossible in Hugo’s imagination.
