Family Hour
Short

Sunny August day. Almost midday. It’s the time of family visits on a post-Soviet summer camp near Kyiv.

A sixteen-year-old Danya is expecting his father who hasn’t been part of his life for ages.
As the father arrives earlier than expected, the meeting has to be pushed behind the camp’s gate.

On a bench next to the camp’s entrance, Danya struggles to get a father’s recognition and grasp the real meaning of their family bonds.

Amsterdam based filmmaker Mariia Ponomarova’s fifth short film explores a personal and experimental narrative trough classical storytelling.
